Who is Summerfly?

Summerfly is a business run by Benjamin and Sarina Speed of Franklin, Maine. The couple met at Woodland High School in Baileyville and moved out west together to Olympia, Washington where they both earned their Bachelor of Arts from The Evergreen State College. With new skills, experiences and outlooks on life, their roots remained steadfast in the quality of life in Eastern Maine where they returned to be married in the summer of 2002.

In 2003 Summerfly Designs was started as a jewelry business that combined silversmithing with vintage beads. Sarina’s new business was fresh and innovative. Her earrings, necklaces and bracelets were elegant and eye-catching.

In 2005 the couple welcomed a newborn son, Noah into the world, and soon were nesting a home in Franklin. Franklin is a small town between Ellsworth and Cherryfield that shares a mixture of artists, blue-collar workers, families and summer folk. It is blessed with a landscape of blueberry fields, Christmas trees, glorious lakes and country roads.

Now in 2006 Benjamin and Sarina are partners in the business. Benjamin brings his professional videography, editing and graphic design skills to Summerfly. He specializes in documentary, commercial and event production. Benjamin is an award winning producer and videographer and brings a personal professionalism and creativity to all of his projects. You can be sure that he will make your story, event or product stand out.

Now Benjamin and Sarina look forward to working together in order to make your memories last, whether it be an heirloom or an unforgettable moment in time.
